Inspire and support students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a dynamic school setting near Sanford, FL. This full-time, itinerant contract role requires on-site presence, engaging with a caseload of 12 students, primarily in the K-8 range. You'll rotate between two nearby schools each day, providing tailored instructional support and collaborating with educational teams.
The assignment spans from August 10, 2026, to May 25, 2027, with hours totaling 35 per week. Caseload specifics are flexible and may be adjusted depending on your experience and availability, ensuring a manageable and rewarding workload with room for your professional input.
What we’re looking for:
- Active Educator Certification and National Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
- Experience supporting K-8 students with visual impairments in school settings preferred
- Ability to adapt lessons, materials, and technology to individual student needs
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and staff
- Time-sensitive credentialing requirements: district background check, fingerprinting, and completion of necessary forms prior to start
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and materials to visually impaired students across assigned schools
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans in partnership with school teams
- Support classroom teachers and provide consultation on accessibility and adaptive techniques
- Participate in meetings to monitor progress and advocate for appropriate accommodations
