Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Renton, Washington
Make a meaningful difference as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, working onsite with students in a supportive educational environment close to Renton, WA. This part-time contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, beginning August 26, 2026, and concluding June 16, 2027. Work closely with a small caseload of eight students, providing essential instruction and services that help each individual thrive.
As the dedicated TVI, you will collaborate with school staff and families to address each student’s unique needs, tailoring programs and resources to foster independence and academic progress. This position is onsite only and requires a commitment of 15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate both weekly and periodic service requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Washington Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
- Successful fingerprinting through OSPI
- Previous experience working with visually impaired students in educational settings preferred
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and empowerment for all students
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement specialized instructional plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Deliver direct instruction as outlined in students’ IEPs and related service plans
- Collaborate regularly with general educators and related service providers
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress monitoring for all assigned students
- Consult with parents and staff to ensure a consistent and positive educational experience
