Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, following individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assess students’ functional vision and provide consultative support to general education teachers
- Develop accessible curriculum materials and recommend appropriate technologies or aids
- Train staff and families in strategies that help students maximize independence and participation
- Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments to support achievement
- Advocate for inclusion and appropriate accommodations within school settings
