Qualifications/Experience:
- Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience providing instruction to visually impaired students or similar populations
- Proficiency in conducting Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) assessments
- Skill in consulting with staff and preparing accessible instructional materials
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students according to individualized education plans
- Provide indirect services, including consultation with staff and preparing materials adapted for visual accessibility
- Conduct comprehensive student evaluations, including FVE, LMA, and O&M assessments
- Participate in ARD meetings as an essential team member
- Develop and maintain thorough documentation of services and progress
