You'll have a full-time schedule, but the district is committed to collaborating with you to develop a weekly routine that fits your needs and commute preferences.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Florida professional certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- OMS Certification (must have)
- Experience with educational screenings and assessments
- Testing background required
- Previous school-based experience strongly preferred, though not required
- Comfort traveling to multiple school sites (2-3 schools per day)
- Ability to provide both direct instruction and indirect consultation for students, families, and staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve a caseload of 15-20 students, K-12, district-wide
- Deliver instruction, perform student screenings, complete documentation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide both in-person and consultative services, including periodic travel as needed for direct support
- Flexibly manage your own schedule and commute (with input from district scheduling)
- Ensure all required credentialing and onboarding processes are completed
