What We’re Looking For:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Prior experience working with students who are visually impaired or have multiple disabilities
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for partnering with general and special education staff, families, and related service providers
- Adaptability to float between campuses and manage a fluctuating caseload
- Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans and adapt curriculum materials
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ eligibility and needs for special education services related to visual impairments
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with students’ unique requirements
- Provide direct instruction in braille, orientation and mobility concepts, technology, and daily living skills as needed
- Consult regularly with educators and staff to enhance instructional strategies and facilitate accessibility
- Advocate for students’ needs, ensuring compliance with IDEA and relevant regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely communication with parents and team members
