What you'll bring:
- Valid Florida Professional Teacher for the Visually Impaired License
- Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Certification
- Prior school-based experience is highly valued, but not required
- Strong background in student screenings/testing
- Confidence working with age-diverse caseloads (K-12, approx. 15-20 students)
- Flexibility for both direct and indirect services, including consultative support
- Excellent communication and organization to manage an itinerant schedule
- Comfort with a mix of on-site and remote service delivery
Key responsibilities:
- Serve a district-wide caseload of approximately 22 students across 13 assigned schools (2 or 3 schools per day)
- Perform screenings, student assessments, and deliver both direct and consultative services
- Use the district’s main office as a home base with travel to various campuses
- Collaborate to create a customized, commutable weekly schedule
- Maintain meticulous documentation and communication following district procedures
- Engage fully in the district's streamlined onboarding, training, and compliance processes
This school year contract begins August 3, 2026, and runs through May 28, 2027, with a consistent full-time schedule.
