This contract opportunity offers a dynamic blend of on-site and hybrid work for a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) who also holds the Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification. Serving a diverse K-12 population across multiple schools, you’ll make a real impact by providing direct and consultative services to approximately 22 students district-wide.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Professional FL TVI License and OMS Certification required.
- Strong testing background essential for student screenings.
- Experience in school settings is highly valued, but not mandatory.
- Comfort working independently in an itinerant role across multiple campuses.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage schedules and documentation across a caseload of 15-20 students.
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver both direct instruction and consultative support for students with visual impairments, grades K-12.
- Conduct student screenings and assessments to tailor individualized education plans.
- Travel to up to three schools a day (with district office as homebase) and provide virtual services as part of a flexible hybrid model.
- Collaborate with district staff, educators, and families to promote student success.
- Complete all district credentialing steps, including onboarding, badge process, and timely timesheet documentation.
