Teacher for the Visually Impaired - Deltona, Florida

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Educator Certification
- National Certification related to teaching students with visual impairments
- Experience collaborating with elementary and/or middle school populations
- Ability to assess, plan, and deliver individualized instruction for visually impaired students
- Strong communication skills to partner with families, staff, and administration
- Must be able to complete district background check, fingerprinting, and required forms
- Flexibility to work across multiple sites within a school day
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans for K-8 students with visual impairments
- Provide direct instruction and/or consultation to students and staff in assigned schools
- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional methods to meet diverse student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, itinerant staff, and related service providers
- Support the development of self-advocacy and independence in students
- Maintain thorough documentation of services, progress, and communication
