Empower students to succeed by supporting their educational journeys as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This full-time, contract opportunity extends from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027, serving a diverse caseload of elementary, middle, and high school students. Located close to the vibrant Fayetteville, NC region, you will work Monday through Friday, with a total of 37.5 hours each week.
As a pivotal member of the educational community, your expertise will guide visually impaired students through tailored instruction, assessment, and advocacy.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certified as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience with students in elementary, middle, and high school
- Proficiency in adapting curriculum and using specialized instructional materials
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to conduct both formal and informal student assessments
- Previous experience attending and preparing for ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
- Commitment to supporting students’ development, independence, and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
- Modify curriculum and teaching methods to meet students’ unique needs
- Monitor student achievement through ongoing assessment
- Participate in relevant ARD meetings, contributing to student advocacy and goal planning
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to support inclusive practices
- Maintain compliance with district and special education requirements
