Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high school levels. This full-time, contract position begins August 10, 2026, and continues through May 27, 2027, aligning with the academic calendar and providing a stable schedule Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week. With three openings available, collaborative and passionate educators committed to empowering students are encouraged to apply.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience providing specialized instruction for students with visual impairments across multiple grade levels
- Solid grasp of assessment tools and instructional methods tailored for visually impaired learners, in compliance with district standards
- Ability to plan, prepare, and adapt materials as needed for accessibility
- Skilled in both formal and informal student assessment and progress monitoring
- Comfortable working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Regularly assess student achievement and learning progress, modifying instructional strategies based on individual needs
- Prepare and participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings to develop and review student IEPs
- Maintain thorough documentation of student performance and instruction
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and educational staff
