Key Qualifications:
- Active certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
- Previous experience working with visually impaired students (elementary, middle, or high school preferred)
- Strong understanding of instructional methodologies tailored to visually impaired learners
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and families
- Ability to conduct and interpret both formal and informal assessments
- Comfortable collaborating and participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized instruction to visually impaired students, adapting methods to meet individualized needs
- Employ district-approved teaching strategies in both one-on-one and group settings
- Continually assess student achievement and adjust teaching accordingly
- Prepare documentation and materials for, and actively participate in, ARD meetings
- Collaborate with educational teams, families, and support staff to optimize student success across grade levels
- Contribute to planning and IEP goal-setting, ensuring compliance with district and state guidelines
This contract offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, 37.5 hours per week, with three available openings to make your impact even more meaningful.
