You’ll travel to assigned schools—all located within close proximity—to provide specialized instruction and support for students in general education and specialized classrooms.
As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you’ll harness your skills in Braille and Assistive Technology to enhance student access and participation. Experience with the Federal Quota program and the TN Pulse platform for IEP documentation is highly valued. The district provides Chromebooks for students, so comfort with this technology will aid your instructional approach. Your caseload will span K-12+, with equitable assignments across elementary, middle, and high schools.
What you’ll bring:
- Current, active Department of Education (DOE) certification
- Expertise in Braille instruction and Assistive Technology
- Experience working with both general education and multiply disabled student populations
- Strong IEP participation skills; ability to document using electronic platforms
- Willingness to complete district-required fingerprinting
- Reliable transportation for itinerant assignments
- Collaborative approach and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
- Bonus: Familiarity with Federal Quota program and TN Pulse platform
Key responsibilities:
