Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active DOE Certification (TVI)
- Proficient in Braille instruction and adaptive methods
- Experience with assistive technology for vision impairment (knowledge of Federal Quota program is a plus)
- Comfortable supporting students across a range of educational settings, including general education and special classrooms for children with multiple disabilities
- Familiarity with the TN Pulse platform for IEP documentation and collaboration in IEP meetings
- Willingness to complete fingerprint-based background clearance prior to onboarding
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional services to visually impaired students across K-12+ settings
- Collaborate and consult with general and special education staff to develop and implement individualized plans
- Travel between assigned campuses within the district’s geographic boundaries
- Support students in using Chromebooks and integrating technology to enhance their learning
- Maintain accurate documentation, participating actively in all required IEP meetings and progress monitoring
