Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Visually Impaired (VI) Teacher is required
- Experience delivering specialized instruction to visually impaired students at multiple grade levels
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and assessment strategies
- Skilled in adapting curriculum and instructional materials to best support each student’s needs
- Collaborative approach to working with educators, families, and support personnel
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver customized instruction and support to visually impaired students, ensuring alignment with district and state learning standards
- Conduct ongoing formal and informal assessments to accurately monitor student achievement and adjust strategies as needed
- Prepare for and participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings, contributing valuable insights regarding student progress and needs
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to facilitate student engagement and learning
- Communicate effectively with school staff and families to foster a supportive educational environment
