Ideal candidates bring:
- Current Educator Certification and National Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Documented experience working with K–8 students who have visual impairments
- Comfortable with itinerant assignments and able to adapt to different environments
- Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads and schedules efficiently
- Willingness to complete required district background check, fingerprinting, and credentialing forms in a timely manner
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across designated campuses
- Collaborate with general education staff to modify curriculum and ensure accessibility
- Develop, maintain, and update individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide guidance on assistive technology and accessible materials
- Serve as a resource for families, helping them navigate educational services
