Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license issued by TEA
- Proven background in adapting instructional methods and materials for visually impaired learners
- Experience interpreting eye medical reports and translating findings to educational planning
- Familiarity with IEP/IFSP processes, including goal setting, identifying modifications, and recognizing unique learning styles
Role Overview:
- Provide direct instruction and consultative services to a caseload of students, working 15 hours per week over 2-3 days
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments for new referrals and three-year re-evaluations
- Engage in the development and review of IEP/IFSP to ensure meaningful, personalized educational goals and accommodations
- Obtain, modify, and facilitate access to standardized testing materials (including NAPT, ITBS, TAAS, SAT, ACT) to provide equitable assessment experiences
- Collaborate closely with staff and caregivers to ensure a holistic, student-centered approach
This contract runs from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with compensation at $50 per hour.
