This full-time contract runs from August 10, 2026, to May 27, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (37.5 hours weekly).
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI)
- Experience supporting a diverse caseload across elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Strong familiarity with instructional methods tailored for visually impaired students
- Ability to conduct thorough formal and informal assessments to monitor and document student achievement
- Excellent collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and attending ARD meetings
- Commitment to meeting district and federal requirements for individualized education
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement personalized instructional plans to meet the educational needs of students with visual impairments
- Assess student progress regularly through a variety of testing strategies and adapt instruction accordingly
- Participate in ARD meetings and team conferences to advocate for student needs and services
- Maintain clear documentation and communicate effectively with staff and families
- Stay current on best practices to support ongoing development and achievement for visually impaired learners
