Desired Skills & Experience:
- Expertise in evaluating, selecting, and implementing assistive technology for students with diverse learning needs
- Strong understanding of IDEA and relevant education accessibility laws
- Experience delivering professional development or training for staff on assistive technology tools and strategies
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Ability to assess student needs through observation, data collection, and collaboration with IEP or 504 teams
- Comfortable with troubleshooting software and hardware issues
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine assistive technology needs for individual students
- Provide recommendations for software, devices, or accommodations
- Deliver training, coaching, and ongoing support to staff, students, and families
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for student plans and device usage
- Stay current on emerging assistive technology tools and best practices in special education
- Collaborate with other specialists, therapists, and general educators to support inclusive learning environments
