Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist or in a related field such as special education or educational technology
- In-depth understanding of assistive technology devices, software, and related tools for diverse learner needs
- Familiarity with IEP process and documentation preferred
- Strong communication and training skills, able to work collaboratively with educators, students, and families
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software and recommend suitable solutions based on individual needs
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Educational Technology, Rehabilitation Services, or a relevant field preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs for assistive technology and recommend appropriate supports
- Set up, configure, and maintain assistive technology devices and software in classrooms and individual settings
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school teams to integrate technology solutions into student learning plans
- Provide training to staff, students, and families on effective use of assistive technology
- Stay current with new advancements in the field and provide ongoing recommendations to improve accessibility
- Maintain thorough documentation and contribute input during meetings and IEP discussions
