Key Qualifications:
- Professional Florida certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Must hold a current Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) Certification
- Background in student assessment and screening required
- Experience or strong familiarity with consultative and direct teaching for K-12 students
- District preference for school-based experience, but open to those with related backgrounds
Role Highlights:
- Serve an itinerant caseload across 13 school sites, with about 2–3 schools visited each day
- Conduct both direct and consultative services for students, with some interactions scheduled monthly
- Perform student screenings and ongoing assessments to inform educational plans
- Collaborate with school teams and families for optimal student outcomes
- Build your weekly schedule in partnership with district staff for an efficient and balanced commute
- Use the district’s main office as your professional base, ensuring coordinated support and resources
