Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Active, valid DOE certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Familiarity with Braille instruction and assistive technology for visually impaired students (Federal Quota program knowledge is a plus)
- Experience working with K-12+ caseloads in both general education and multi-disabilities settings
- Proficiency with digital IEP platforms; experience with TN Pulse preferred
- Ability to complete required fingerprinting for credentialing
- Adaptable to itinerant assignments and capable of organizing your daily travel between schools
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and adaptive support to visually impaired students in general and special education settings
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with educational teams
- Utilize and teach assistive technology, supporting student learning with Chromebooks and additional tools
- Develop and implement individualized lessons, supporting skills both in Braille and technology use
- Manage itinerant schedules and communicate effectively with multiple schools
