Qualifications:
- Valid DOE certification (active)
- Expertise in teaching students who are visually impaired (K-12+)
- Proficiency in Braille and use of assistive technology
- Familiarity with accessing assistive technology via the Federal Quota program (preferred)
- Comfortable traveling between assigned schools for scheduled support
- Prior experience documenting and managing IEPs (using the TN Pulse platform a plus)
- Willingness to undergo fingerprinting and meet credentialing procedures
Responsibilities:
- Coach and support visually impaired students in both general and special education classrooms
- Deliver individualized instruction geared to student needs and abilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in IEP meetings and student progress reviews
- Employ and maintain assistive technology solutions, supporting student access across multiple campuses
- Coordinate a balanced, itinerant schedule across elementary, middle, and high school caseloads
