This full-time contract opportunity begins August 5th, 2026, and runs through May 19th, 2027, with the potential for part-time arrangements based on your availability. What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Valid DOE certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (if seeking virtual/remote assignment)
- Proficiency in Braille and Assistive Technology required; familiarity with Federal Quota program a plus
- Prior experience supporting K-12 students, across elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Understanding of both general education and specialized classroom environments
- Ability to participate actively in IEP meetings, with experience using TN Pulse platform preferred
- Willingness to obtain fingerprint clearance
- Reliable transportation for itinerant school-based schedules (for onsite roles)
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as an itinerant or virtual TVI, supporting a diverse caseload of students assigned across multiple campuses
- Help students access curriculum using Assistive Technology and Braille resources
- Advise and train school teams on best practices for visually impaired learners
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, tracking data and progress through the district’s digital platforms
- Travel efficiently between assigned schools with well-planned schedules
