Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Elizabethtown, PA

Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligible to obtain one
- Hands-on experience working with K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired
- Ability to develop and deliver adapted curriculum and instructional materials
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and educational teams
- Comfortable working across multiple school sites as an itinerant professional
- Up-to-date with educational best practices and assistive technology in vision education
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to K-12 students with visual impairments across various schools
- Assess student needs and progress, customizing instructional plans to support varied learning styles
- Collaborate with general education and special education staff to facilitate inclusion and accessibility
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to IEP meetings and progress reports
- Offer consultative services and training to staff and families regarding adaptive techniques and tools
- Advocate for students’ access to resources, ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment
