A full-time contract opportunity is now available, starting ASAP and continuing through the remainder of the school year. You’ll travel between school sites in the Lititz, PA area, collaborating closely with educators and staff to create accessible learning environments and deliver vital services to your students.
Key Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania teaching certification in Visual Impairment or eligibility
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired preferred
- Familiarity with braille and assistive technology tools for visually impaired students
- Strong skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Ability to adapt curriculum materials for students with varying vision needs
- Excellent communication and organization abilities
- Passion for inclusive education and advocacy for student success
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments at multiple campuses
- Assess students’ functional vision and learning needs, recommending appropriate accommodations
- Work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive academic environment
- Develop and monitor progress on individualized education plans, ensuring compliance and best practices
- Teach use of adaptive materials, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility skills as needed
- Offer consultative support and training to general education staff on accessible teaching methods
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
This full-time role follows a Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm schedule, providing stability and the opportunity to make a lasting impact throughout the school year.
