This full-time, itinerant position is available immediately and will extend through the remainder of the school year. You’ll work with K-12 students across a variety of educational settings near Ephrata, PA, providing critical support to help them achieve their goals.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Demonstrated experience working with school-aged students (K-12) who are visually impaired
- Strong understanding of developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Skilled in adapting curriculum and teaching strategies for students with visual impairments
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Ability to travel between school sites as part of an itinerant service model
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in a school-based setting
- Assess student needs and progress, adjusting interventions as appropriate
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to ensure accessible learning environments
- Develop and modify materials using braille, large print, and assistive technology
- Participate in IEP meetings, document services, and maintain records in compliance with district and state requirements
- Provide consultation and training to faculty and staff regarding best practices
