Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Tavares, Florida

In this full-time position (35 hours/week, Monday through Friday), you'll deliver both direct and indirect support, using your expertise to drive student success. The role involves approximately 15-20 students in a manageable caseload, providing services as needed and conducting screenings to ensure individualized educational plans.
Desired Qualifications/Experience:
- Valid Florida Professional TVI License
- OMS Certification is required
- Strongly preferred: experience working in school settings (not required)
- Background in conducting assessments or student screenings
- Ability to serve students in an itinerant capacity, traveling to 2-3 schools daily (district vehicle/office as base)
- Comfort providing both direct instruction and consultative services
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality support to K-12 students with visual impairments in both individual and consultative settings
- Administer educational screenings and assessments as needed
- Collaborate closely with district staff, special educators, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district processes, including onboarding and regular signoff of timesheets
- Participate in district-required training and credentialing
