Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid California state license relevant to Assistive Technology Specialist or Special Education Teacher roles (CA License required)
- Strong background in special education, assistive technology, or a related discipline
- Previous experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting assistive technology devices in K-12 settings
- Skilled at training educators and staff on the effective use of AT devices and software
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to travel between multiple educational sites as needed
Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and recommend appropriate assistive technology solutions to support learning and participation
- Conduct individualized and group trainings for staff on the use of assistive technology devices and applications
- Collaborate with special education teachers, therapists, and administrators to develop and implement tailored AT strategies
- Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and device maintenance
- Monitor and document student progress with AT interventions, making adjustments as needed
- Ensure compliance with state and district requirements regarding assistive technology
