Key Qualifications:
- Valid State of California license in Assistive Technology or Special Education required
- Experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist, Special Education Teacher, or in related assistive technology roles
- Deep understanding of classroom and instructional assistive technologies
- Strong communication and training abilities with both staff and students
- Knowledge of district and state compliance standards for assistive technology (CA-specific requirements apply)
- Ability to travel locally to various education sites as needed
Role Expectations:
- Provide assessment, implementation, and ongoing support for assistive technology devices across multiple school locations
- Train educational staff on best practices and proper use of AT devices and software
- Collaborate with special education teams to develop individualized support plans
- Document student progress and technology usage, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines
- Troubleshoot devices, coordinate repairs, and maintain equipment inventory
- Serve as subject matter expert for compliance with district and state assistive technology requirements
