Key Qualifications:
- Valid California licensure specific to Assistive Technology or Special Education
- Experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist and/or Special Education Teacher strongly preferred
- Thorough knowledge of a wide range of assistive technology devices, tools, and applications
- Ability to train staff and provide ongoing support in implementing AT solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability when working across various school sites
- Previous experience in education settings and familiarity with state or district regulations
Core Responsibilities:
- Travel to multiple sites each week, assessing and implementing appropriate assistive technology solutions for students with diverse needs
- Collaborate closely with special education teams, teachers, and support staff to identify technology resources that enhance student learning
- Design and lead training sessions for staff to promote effective use of AT devices and software
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide continuous support to ensure successful integration into the classroom
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress observed
- Stay current with emerging assistive technology trends and compliance with state-specific requirements
