Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid CA state license in relevant discipline is required
- Previous experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist or Special Education Teacher preferred
- Proven ability to train and support educators and support staff on a range of AT devices
- Strong understanding of both low-tech and high-tech assistive solutions
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and flexibility to support diverse learning environments
- Familiarity with IEP processes and compliance in special education settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an onsite resource for the deployment and utilization of assistive technology throughout multiple educational sites
- Conduct assessments to determine appropriate AT solutions for students
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and IEP teams to recommend and implement AT tools tailored to individual student needs
- Lead group and one-on-one training sessions for staff and caregivers on effective use of AT devices and software
- Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and adjustment of devices as necessary
- Ensure all documentation and reporting meet state and district standards
