Make an impact in education by supporting K-12 students as an Assistive Technology Specialist in California! Seeking several experienced professionals to fill contract positions focused on empowering students through tailored assistive technology solutions. This rewarding opportunity begins ASAP and extends through the end of the school year. Full-time hours are available, working across multiple sites with a variety of student caseloads. All roles require onsite presence.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid California license in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology
- Compliance with California state regulations and educational guidelines for Assistive Technology professionals, including possession of industry-recognized credentials or degrees
- Prior experience working in K-12 school settings
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with educators, students, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and recommend appropriate assistive technology tools and solutions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate technology supports into individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide training for staff and students on the implementation and use of assistive technology
- Travel between various school sites as assigned to ensure consistent service delivery
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, services, and equipment usage per state and district requirements
